T.R.A.N.S.F.O.R.M. represents “MOCI’s” unique approach to functioning as a church so that we can reach the world for Christ! While each individual characteristic would not be considered distinct, our blend of all of these will empower MOCI to make a maximum impact in the world that we lead.
Transformational Teaching & Preaching Through the Gospel- The gospel changes everything. It is the “power of God” (Rom 1:16) not only for unbelievers, but for believers as well. It transforms not only individuals, but also churches, societies, and cultures at large. We will proclaim the gospel not just as a gate we pass through one time, but as a path of ongoing renewal and repentance that we are to walk each and every day of our lives. The theme of gospel-centered renewal and transformation will permeate everything we do. Mantra: “Death is necessary for life.”
Connections will be our lifeblood. Every member will be encouraged to connect to other likeminded believers so that we may all move closer to God, to each other, and to our own purpose & destiny. Authenticity will characterize our small groups. They will be a place where people can know and be known, love and be loved, serve and be served, celebrate and be celebrated.
At MOCI, our accountability to each other is this: Love and have confidence in one another. When one is weak, the body should be accountable to help. Accountability helps us to grow in our walk with Christ. When we stop growing, we become stagnate or stale. We become weak in our faith. At MOCI, we don’t want any of our brothers/sisters left behind. Ephesians 4:14-16 tells us that, “That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.”
Nurturing the youth
The Youth Ministry at MOCI will always be a high priority. We plan to create an environment that bridges the methods of the youth with the wisdom of the Kingdom of God! Our plan is to partner with families to encourage, build, and invest into their greatest assets. We will facilitate children developing a good attitude about faith as we teach them about the major people, places, and themes of the Bible in ways that they can embrace. However, it will not stop there, as we will encourage family values and create an atmosphere where children can develop both socially and spiritually. We are excited about the potential in your child and partnering with you towards their future.
Shepherding the people of God
This vital aspect of our church involves leadership intentionally building relationships with and providing spiritual care for all partners. The church leadership will equip , train, and present pathways that will help the people of God to develop spiritual maturity like never before. All partners will be valued and accepted based on their potential, and not their past.
The spirit of giving shall be at the core of this ministry. Giving of time, talents, and resources will be genuinely modeled by leadership and expected by the partners. Just as Christ freely gave, then so shall we have that same mindset.
Though every church is both organism and organization, bureaucracy easily crowds out spiritual vitality. As Erwin McManus says, “Structure must always submit to Spirit.” Our leadership will be communal rather than controlling, and we will relentlessly pursue the health and life of the church as an organism. Healthy churches will grow naturally; unhealthy ones never will. Mantra: “Healthy organisms thrive.”
At MOCI, we display a heart and spirit of reconciliation. We understand that God has called us to be ministers of reconciliation, and this is part of the change that we are bringing forth to the body of Christ. 18 “All this from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry to reconciliation. That is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.” 2 Cor 5:18-20
Ministry Of impact
The various ministries MOCI will incorporate will be distinctly purposeful. They will cultivate an environment where life change is the norm (Luke 4:16). We will meet people where they are and help move them closer to Christ. Our ministry will not only equip people to address pressing needs individually, but also train and develop them to do ministry corporately. The ministries at MOCI will minister to the whole individual…spirit, soul, and body.
