Wow… what a headline!! It is one that probably will catch a lot of attention from those on FB and people all over the world. So, what exactly is Prophetess Trish talking about here?

I came to the conclusion a long time ago that I was a freak, not just any freak, but a freak for the most high God. This headline probably caught many people’s attention just from the simple word F R E A K. Why is that? Well, when the world uses this word, let’s see exactly what they mean:

1) Freak-abnormal phenomenon, person, or animal

2) Someone who is a queer, odd, grotesque, weird, strange.

3) Someone with something unusual about their appearance or behavior

4 )Freak or Freaky can apply to someone who is sexually adventurous, liking to try new things.

5) To Freak out- To lose or cause to lose emotional control from extreme excitement, shock, fear, joy, despair, etc.

Before I address all 5 of the above definitions, I would have you to know that before I realized that I was a freak for God, he had already written in his word thousands of years ago that I was just that- A FREAK!. The Lord said that he had chosen me to be a freak for him! Don’t believe it? Here is a quote from the scriptures:

Deuteronomy 14:2

King James Version (KJV)

2For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God, and the LORD hath chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto himself, above all the nations that are upon the earth.

You might say, “well, I don’t see the word ‘freak’ anywhere in that scripture”. Take a closer look. Do you see the word “peculiar”? There, there it is! Let’s take a look at what that word means.

Peculiar- odd, strange, uncommon.

Peculiar- belonging exclusively to some person, group, or thing.

So wait! What was a definition for freak again?

2) Someone who is a queer, odd, grotesque, weird, strange.

You see, we Christians are looked at by a vast part of the world as weird or strange. We may even be grotesque (grossing people out) at the very thought of worshipping Christ; we may be considered a queer for loving a so-called man who died upon the cross. But God says, “Let them call you all of that, because that’s what you are. You belong to me”. One of the definitions for being peculiar was belonging exclusively to some person (Jesus Christ), group (Father, Son, Holy Ghost), or thing (the Holy Trinity). Wow!!! What freaks we are!!!!! I’m loving this!

Other references to this are Deuteronomy 26:18 and 1 Peter 2:9.

Now, let’s address the 5 views/definitions of the world and how they should relate to our Christian lives:

1) Freak- a) abnormal phenomenon (unusual fact or occurrence), b) person, or c) animal

What, or should I say, how many abnormal phenomenons have taken place in the lives of we “freaks” that would be considered “freaky”? Well, I must admit that the abnormal phenomenons, or unusual facts or occurrences, that took place was that 1)God himself came down in human form as his 1 and only begotten Son Jesus Christ 2) There was a virgin birth thru his servant Mary. 3) He died and rose on the 3rd day….wow!! How many abnormal phenomenons does one need??? Those phenomenons are considered freak incidents that took place. Well…..this most certainly makes me a freak because I believe in ALL of that! How freaky, huh????
If you are a Christian, then you should be an abnormal person that doesn’t conform to the ways of the world. You should always set yourself apart from the ways of the world and consider yourself to be “strange or weird” according to man’s view. Being “different”, is not always bad. Romans 12:2 King James Version (KJV) And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Ok… this one is about the abnormal animal that would be considered a freak or actually kind of “freaky”. Hum…. Well let me see. Let’s talk about the donkey that speaks as a man in the bible. Now that would freak anybody out in this day and age huh? Here are the scripture references: Numbers 22:21-28 So Balaam arose in the morning, and saddled his donkey, and went with the princes of Moab.22 But God was angry because he was going, and the angel of the Lord took his stand in the way as an adversary against him. Now he was riding on his donkey and his two servants were with him. 23 When the donkey saw the angel of the Lord standing in the way with his drawn sword in his hand, the donkey turned off from the way and went into the field; but Balaam struck the donkey to turn her back into the way 24 Then the angel of the Lord stood in a narrow path of the vineyards, with a wall on this side and a wall on that side. 25 When the donkey saw the angel of the Lord, she pressed herself to the wall and pressed Balaam’s foot against the wall, so he struck her again.26 And the angel of the Lord went further, and stood in a narrow place where there was no way to turn to the right hand or the left. 27 When the donkey saw the angel of the Lord, she lay down under Balaam; so Balaam was angry and struck the donkey with his stick.
28 And the Lord opened the mouth of the donkey, and she said to Balaam, “What have I done to you, that you have struck me these three times?” 29 Then Balaam said to the donkey, “Because you have made a mockery of me! If there had been a sword in my hand, I would have killed you by now.” 30 And the donkey said to Balaam, “Am I not your donkey on which you have ridden all your life to this day? Have I ever been accustomed to do so to you?” And he said, “No.”This donkey was a freak because 1) she saw in the spirit realm the angel of the Lord, and 2) she spoke as having the voice of man. What a freak!! Many of us today can’t even see what God is doing in the spirit realm, but this donkey did!! Wait…..that’s a sermon for another day….lol…..Ok…..back to the donkey. This just goes to show that God will use anybody or anything. God says if you think that’s something, I will even use the rocks to speak. Luke 19:40 40 “I tell you,” he replied, “if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.”All power is in HIS hands. Whatever he does may be considered freaky in man’s sight because he does things that we can’t even imagine or fathom. Oh, how great is our God!

2) Freak- someone who is a queer, odd, grotesque, weird, strange.

This one we have already addressed. We have to be a peculiar people (freaks) set apart from the ways of the world, but renewing our minds daily in the things of God. Deuteronomy 14:2King James Version (KJV) 2For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God, and the LORD hath chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto himself, above all the nations that are upon the earth. Romans 12:2 King James Version (KJV) And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

3) Freak- someone with something unusual about their appearance or behavior.

When living for God, there is an expectation that your appearance or behavior is set apart from the ways of the world. You can’t be a freak for God and be a freak for the world. That is being double-minded and unstable in your ways!! We must continue to strive to be unusual in both appearance and behavior and be the freaks that God has called us to be rather than the freaks that the world wants us to be. Reading your Bible, praying, fasting, and doing regular devotions are helpful ways to know God’s expectations and live a life focused on God. Romans 13:13 – “Because we belong to the day, we must live decent lives for all to see. Don’t participate in the darkness of wild parties and drunkenness, or in sexual promiscuity and immoral living, or in quarreling and jealousy.” (NLT) Ephesians 5:8 – “For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light!” (NLT) Matthew 5:16 – “In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.” (NIV)
In talking about an unusual appearance, it is key to note that the appearance that we as Christians are to have is really and truly about the appearance of the heart. No, we are NOTgoing to show up in clothes that are seductive to the eye, thus promoting lust of the flesh, but we ARE going to dress modestly and separate ourselves from the fashions of the world. We can’t conform to every new fashion statement that hits the streets. Some things we have to truly turn our nose to. But again, it’s important to know that what’s more important to God is the appearance of the heart. It is what’s on the inside that matters most to Him. The Bible tells us that God’s focus is on developing our inner beauty so that it can be reflected in everything we do and what we are. 1 Samuel 16:7 – “The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” (NIV) The Bible tells us that it is important to present ourselves as best as possible, but God does not call us to go to extremes. It is important that we remain aware of why we do the things we do to look good. Ask yourself two questions:

Does your focus on your appearance take your eyes off the Lord?
Are you more focused on your weight, clothes, or makeup than you are on God?

If you answered, “Yes,” to either of the questions, then you may need to take a closer look at your priorities. The Bible tells us to look closer at our hearts and actions rather than our presentation and appearance.Colossians 3:17 – “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” (NIV) Proverbs 31:30 – “Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting: but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.”(NIV) So in conclusion to this segment, be unusual in your behavior. Don’t act as the world acts; also, be unusual in your appearance, but make sure the heart of Christ is reflected more than your individual style.

4)Freak or Freaky can apply to someone who is sexually adventurous, liking to try new things.

Ok, here we go…….. There are so many women and men out in the world willing to try so many things with their significant other in the bedroom, whether married or not. We’ll do whatever to keep a man or woman, and try anything, anywhere or anytime! Now…… hum…. Kind of a touchy subject, but guess what??? I am going to address it! IF you are married, then you know what I say? YOU SHOULD BE A FREAK FOR YOUR HUSBAND OR WIFE!! Hebrews 13:4 Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge. This does NOT necessarily mean that we can do whatever, but this means that we will do things that are pleasing to our husband or wife without dishonoring them or making them feel uncomfortable, or causing dishonor to the marriage covenant. This can vary by marriage and person. We do not want to promote things within the marriage bed that will bring about sin, thus dishonoring the marriage. Sexual immorality would include adultery, homosexuality, and lusting from someone other than your spouse (fornication) to name a few. Basically, it’s sex with anyone other than your spouse, whether in deed or in thought. What about sex toys and other sexual aids? This is where you have to use Godly wisdom. Remember, sex between husband and wife should always be honorable. So, if what you’re doing causes either of you to feel pain, disrespected, or shameful, then you shouldn’t do it. Intimacy between husband and wife is a sacred gift that should never evoke feelings of guilt, shame, or disrespect. When a husband and wife make love they should always have the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of the other person in mind.
Again, there are so many men and women out there being freaks for the world when it comes to sexual pleasures and desires, so many that are willing to do anything to please someone in a sexual manner, so many people that will belittle themselves just to be received by others in this way, so many that will put their lives at risk by having unprotected sex with chances of contracting HIV/AIDS, so many……. Well, what if, in the same way that we are sexually freaky for the world, we would be just that freaky for God??? What if we decided to be true Jesus freaks instead of worldly freaks? What if we were willing to do anything to be pleasing to God’s eyesight? We if we chose to make ourselves look like complete idiots (belittle ourselves) in the sight of man, all so that we could represent Christ in the way that pleases Him? What if we chose to risk our lives all for the sake of Jesus Christ? Why not? He gave his life for us? What if this world of sexual sin and immorality would turn from this wicked way and be spiritual freaks for Jesus? What a different world we would live in! As of now, we are a modern day Sodom and Gomorrah…. with sin continuing to expound all around us while many of us just sit and watch it happen. And we wonder why this world is going to burn in the end just as Sodom and Gomorrah did! Who will choose to be a Lot and leave from that wickedness and not look back? Deliverance is knocking at the door. Who will answer before it’s too late??? Yes, I am sooooo loving being a freak for Jesus, willing to do anything, and be adventurous all for the sake of the gospel! I plan to get even freakier for Him!!!

5) To Freak out- To lose or cause to lose emotional control from extreme excitement, shock, fear, joy, etc.

Last, but not least, I’ve learned that it is good to freak out for the Lord! I love his very presence in my life which brings extreme excitement, shock, fear and reverence, and joy. I love being able to communicate with him with the evidence of speaking in tongues which is a language that only he can understand, unless another is given the gift of interpretation. If you have ever had a true Holy Ghost experience, then you yourself have freaked out as well. Let’s look at some situations in the bible where the people were freaked out:

The feeding of the 5000 with 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish Mark 6:34-44
The feeding of the 4000 with 7 loaves and a few small fish Mark 8:1-9
Lazarus is raised from the dead after 4 days John 11:1-57
The birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus The Gospels

There are truly so many occurrences in the bible that happened that would really freak some people out in this day and age. The last thing that shall take place is the return of Jesus Christ for the church. This will really freak some people out that are still around to see it transpire! Before that happens, we are really suppose to be living the life as a Jesus freak, freaking people out daily with kingdom work. We should be casting out devils, healing the sick, prophesying, ministering the word of God daily, praying for others, feeding the hungry, being servants, etc. Jesus told us that we will be doing even greater works than he did. Now who’s ready for the manifestation, or the continual manifestation??? John 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

Thank you very much for taking the time out to read this. My prayer is that there will truly be more Jesus freaks in the world, doing a work for Him and not for the devil. My challenge to you today is…… BE FREAKIER THAN YOU’VE EVER BEEN FOR THE LORD! IT’S TIME!!!! GET OUT THE BOX! BE MORE ADVENTUROUS!! BE PLEASING TO THE LORD IN WAYS YOU NEVER KNEW HOW! THIS IS YOUR TIME AND YOUR SEASON! LET’S GO!!!
