The Road to Success is Never a Straight Line

The road to success is never a straight line. Stay focused.
A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps (Proverbs 16:9)
God often shows us the beginning of things and sometimes the end of things, but rarely the details in between. Sometimes things happen in our lives that break our hearts or steal our joy.  In those moments, it is so easy for us to forget that God has a hand in every part of our lives.
If it were up to us, every plan we make for our lives would be easy, straight and direct. We would devise our plans with no obstacles or hindrance, but God has
different plans. God knows exactly what we need in order to prepare us for our destiny. His ways are much higher than ours.
We see a prime example of this in the story of Joseph in Genesis 37. God gave Joseph a dream that he would rule and would be a great and mighty person to the point that his brothers and whole family would serve him. The challenge is that God never showed Joseph the intricate details within this great vision. Joseph’s path would quickly take a turn..
  1. He would be hated by his brothers.
  2. He would be sold into slavery.
  3. He would be thrown into prison.
  4. He would be lied on.
  5. He would forgotten about.
  6. He would ultimately be in a time of predation for 13 years.
Though Joseph saw the beginning and end, and it looked like a straight shot to get from where he was to where he was going, it wasn’t easy; however, in the end, even though the road to success wasn’t straight, Joseph learned valuable lessons that prepared him for his ultimate position as ruler and savior to an entire nation.
Principle…Don’t be so disappointed when your plans don’t prevail…God’s plan is always better and always leads to a place of prosperity.
Blessings
