More Is Not Always Better

I come to demolish a myth in this blog,  Money is not the answer for people with money issues. In some of my teachings and speaking engagements, I often give the illustration of money to describe bigger issues in people’s lives. I use money because most people understand the concept of economics/ money. Most of us probably wish for a million dollars, when in reality most of us couldn’t handle a million dollars. I believe you could have a million dollars and be in financial difficulty really quickly if you don’t change the way you think about money. If you don’t have a mind renewal on budgeting, saving, investing, and giving, then you will have financial struggles all over again. As we are in the world today, this almost sounds like people’s lives when receiving salvation. When we receive the gift of salvation, God gives us His very essence, the Holy Spirit, but we don’t receive a new mind. In Romans 12:2, the Apostle Paul tells us that we have to be transformed by the renewing of our mind. Why? Apostle Paul goes on to tell us this so that we may do the perfect will of God. When we change from our old way of thinking, to the Mind of Christ, then we can do His perfect will that has been ordained for our lives. What got you to where you are won’t get you to where you want to be! I pray you have a renewed mind so that you may experience God at new levels.

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
